reSite Conference

Only the first 350 people to register will be get to see Jan Gehl (Copenhagen), Alexandros Washburn (NYC), Reinier de Graaf (OMA, Rotterdam), Janette Sadik-Khan (NYC) and others discuss design for quality public space, mobility and the waterfront.

The conference will be interdisciplinary with designers, municipality leaders, developers, economists and community groups discussing urban design for public space, mobility and the waterfront. Jan Gehl from Copenhagen; Reinier de Graaf, Partner at OMA, the firm founded by Rem Koolhaas in Rotterdam; Janette Sadik-Khan the famous Commissioner of Transportation in NYC and Alexandros E. Washburn the Director of Urban Design will represent the Bloomberg Administration in New York City. Speakers such as Lisa Diedrich and Martin Rein-Cano (Topotek 1) of Germany will talk about design and planning for urban landscapes. Pavel Koch, Nigel Atkins of the Sorbonne and Serge Borenstein of Karlin Group, among others will comment on economics of development while Tomas Hudecek, the Deputy Mayor of Prague and Michael Rink, assistant to Director Jorn Walter from the Ministry of Urban Development and Environment in the City of Hamburg will debate planning and development policy. Igor Kovacavic, Adam Gebrian and Jakub Cigler among other Czech architects will also participate.
